Adolescent Early Intervention and

Oasis Clinical Services has developed an Early Intervention and Prevention Program for adolescents who are not in need of Primary Care at the time of assessment, or whose parents would like to try a "softer" approach to
treatment. Adolescents and their families come to group sessions one time per week, and that program is designed to last six weeks. During this time, the patient's various behaviors are closely watched and monitored, and educational insight is given on use / abuse of alcohol and other addictive drugs. The multiple-family part of our group education and interaction is very important, as the family member is an integral part of breaking the pattern of addiction and use. Family members are also given literature on the signs and symptoms of drug use, as well as information regarding outside meetings and educational programs that may prove helpful. Additionally, and as part of this program, urine screens and testing are given weekly to the patients as an aid to help them maintain abstinence from chemicals and other addictive agents. At the end of the six-week period, another assessment is given by a member of our trained staff, and a referral is made based upon the patient and their family's progress in treatment. |
